ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question:  How has Covid affected the Benidorm community and its services?

Benidorm is a town in the province of Alicante on the Eastern Mediterranean coast of Spain. It is mostly known as a tourist destination with its sandy beaches, many hotels and high-rise buildings. The permanent population is about 70,000 inhabitants.  Not a town where you would expect to find a Jewish community, but the fact is that there is a well-established one, which is celebrating its 50^th anniversary this year.  This week we are speaking with Philip Bowick, the President of the Benidorm Community, about its history and also its current situation and prospects for the future.
