ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: How many children are on ANOHA’s Children’s Council and what do they do?
The Jewish Museum in Berlin opened 20 years ago, and in 2017 we did a program with the curator of its permanent collection. In June 2021 they opened a new Children’s Museum. ANOHA, the Jewish Museum Berlin Children’s World, tells the story of Noah’s Ark as a fun experience for children.
This biblical story includes many themes that are still very meaningful today, and ANOHA encompasses several of them, such as: Contemplating God and the world; Tikkun Olam, the Jewish concept of repairing the world; Nature and the environment; and Diversity and identity, discrimination and exclusion.
Dr. Ane Kleine-Engel became the director of the Children’s Museum in November, 2019, and this week she is speaking with us about ANOHA and how it makes these important themes accessible to very young children.
