ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: How many Reform Jewish communities are there in Spain, and where are they located?
The Reform Jewish Community of Madrid, which is affiliated with the European Union for Progressive Judaism, was founded in 2014 by four women. Since then it has grown from about 20 regulars to a viable community of 26 families, and organizes a wide range of activities, from Shabbat services to educational and cultural events and community outreach programs. Yael Cobano is one of the founders of the community and its current president.
