Margaret Littman: Eclectic Freelance Writer
ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: What is the most difficult project that Margaret Littman has undertaken?
Margaret Littman is an award-winning freelance editor and writer who is based in Nashville, Tennessee. She has covered a wide variety of topics, such as: women’s health, pet-friendly travel, gardening, standup paddling, startup businesses, entrepreneurship, finance, and everything in between. Her work has been published in a cross-section of publications including Condé Nast Traveler, Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the LA Times, AARP Entrepreneur and Chicago magazine, among many others.
She has spent decades finding unexpected stories and amplifying others’ voices. Curiosity, journalism skills, and luck have allowed Margaret to explore eclectic topics in her freelance writing and editing career, ranging from how food and dining can change gentrification to the pre-pandemic shortage of hotel rooms in Nashville. She is especially fond of the American Southeast, and has written extensively about that region, as well as a number of guidebooks under the Moon imprint.
Margaret also conducted oral histories of Holocaust survivors for the USC Shoah Foundation.
This week she is speaking with us about her work, especially her Jewish-themed activities and writings.
