New Guides to the Spanish Network of Jewish Quarters, with Alejandra Abulafia

New Guides to the Spanish Network of Jewish Quarters, with Alejandra Abulafia

ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question:  How many cities are there in the official Spanish Network of Jewish Quarters, and how many of them are new?

Alejandra Abulafia was born into a Sephardic family in Montevideo, Uruguay, where she studied journalism.  She came to Spain a dozen years ago to search for her roots, and has traveled extensively researching and writing about Jewish Spain.  Several years ago she was commissioned by the official Red de Juderías, Spanish Network of Jewish Quarters, to write guidebooks to its member cities.  The 16 guides were recently presented to the public at FITUR, the annual international tourism fair held in Madrid.  The guides are in Spanish and English and can be downloaded for free here.
