Queen Esther and a Historical Perspective on Purim, with Sarah Sonneborn

Two weeks ago we celebrated Purim, and this week Israeli historian Sarah Sonneborn is going to reflect on the historical background and significance of this holiday.
Sonneborn is an Israeli historian with a master’s degree in the History of Spain and Sephardi Judaism from the University of Alcalá de Henares in Spain. She has also done doctoral studies in Spanish and Universal history at Bar-Ilan University in Israel and the Spanish National Research Council. Sarah has been a lecturer at the Institute of History at Heinrich Heine University in Dusseldorf, Germany, and has also taught at the University of Haifa, Bar-Ilan University and IDC Herzliya in Israel.
