Searching for Sephardic Roots, with Abraham García
ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: What is the main motivation that people have to research their possible Sephardic heritage?
A number of years ago we spoke with Abraham García who, using the pseudonym Juan José Ventura, told us about the fascinating personal journey he had undertaken to discover and document his Sephardic origins, going back to the Expulsion from Spain in 1492.
After the successful outcome of his search, he decided to apply his experience professionally, and created Raíces Judías*, an international company that does genealogical research with the goal of helping their clients return to Judaism, obtain Spanish nationality, and learn how to do this kind of research themselves.
