Rabbi Merrill Shapiro is the founder and Chairman of the St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society in Florida. In this program he is speaking with us about the settling of St. Augustine by the Spanish, and the clues that indicate that there were people of Jewish descent living there as early as 1565, 89 years before Jews landed in New Amsterdam.
