Tamar Ilana: Multilingual Singer and Flamenco Dancer

ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: What was “Fedora Upside-Down” and what did they do?

Tamar Ilana is a flamenco dancer and multi-lingual vocalist who is based in Toronto, Canada.  She is the daughter of ethnomusicologist Judith Cohen and began traveling and performing with her mother at a very early age.  With her band Ventanas Tamar has recorded three albums and been nominated for four Canadian Folk Music Awards. You can watch her perform here.
