The Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute, with Franciszek Bojańczyk
ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: Why is the building that houses the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute unique and historically important?
The Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute, is a public cultural and research institution in Warsaw, Poland. Its mission is to spread knowledge about the heritage of the thousand years of Jewish presence in the Polish lands. It does this through presenting temporary and permanent expositions of its collections, organizing educational and cultural activities, and doing continuing research dedicated to Jewish heritage.
The JHI also does genealogical work. People from around the world who are searching for their Jewish roots in Poland can contact the Institute, whose archives and expert employees are of invaluable help.
“What we couldn’t shout out to the world”. Franciszek Bojańczyk is the Institute’s Head of Cultural Projects and Communications Department, and this week he is speaking with us about the Emanuel Ringelblum archive and the Jewish Historical Institute.
