The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience
ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: How does the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience use a traditional craft to involve its visitors?
The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience, which recently opened in New Orleans, tells the long and evolving story of Jewish life in 13 Southern states through artifacts, exhibits, and educational programming. It takes visitors through Southern Jewish history chronologically, encompassing the different groups of Jews who immigrated to the area beginning in the 17th century through today.
Last week Kenneth Hoffman, the Executive Director of the Museum, told us about the history of the Jews in the American South, and this week he is speaking with us about the Museum itself.
