The Protone Project:  Security in Places of Worship

The Protone Project:  Security in Places of Worship

ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: What intercultural event did Arco Forum organize in Madrid to present the PROTONE Project?

PROTONE is a project whose aim is to encourage cooperation among different religious organizations in order to increase security and protection of places of worship, in the light of the increase in terrorist attacks and acts of intolerance in Europe.  The project concentrates on cooperation among the three Abrahamic religions–Jewish, Christian and Muslim–and is co-financed by the Internal Security Fund (ISF) of the European Commission. Eight organizations in five European countries are involved in the project. In Spain, the participating organization is Arco Forum.  This week Temir Naziri, the Executive Director of Arco Forum and Pilar Arnáez, its Coordinator of Activities, are speaking with us about the PROTONE Project and Arco Forum’s role in it.
